The Simple Woman's Daybook



For today.....Monday, January 16, 2012


Outside my window....it is a cold, and sunny day outside today. The forecast for today is 50 degrees, with a temp right now 30 of degrees.


I am thinking.....we had a nice weekend. On Saturday I spent some time cleaning in the house, while William worked on cleaning the garage. The afternoon was quiet and relaxing. On Sunday there was a wonderful church service, and then a relaxed Sunday afternoon.  That's my kind of weekend! :)


I am thinking.....this week will be a busy one because we are babysitting Parker today through Thursday. ♥


In the kitchen....we are going to have Cherry Chicken, rice and green salad for dinner.


I am wearing.....blue jean skirt, tan colored long sleeved top, tights.


I am going....I will be staying home this week until I go with my sister to Walmart on Friday morning.  We will be buying some items  for Mom and Dad.   Afterward we plan to deliver their things to them, and then stay for a visit.  It should be fun!  :)


I am reading....reading another Murder, She Wrote mystery...You Bet Your Life,by Donald Bain.


I am hearing.....the house is quiet right now. William has taken my car in to be smogged, and a tune up. Michelle is at work this morning.


Around the house..... housework and laundry will be done through out the week, as I have time with Parker here.


One of my favorite things.....having a yummy dessert after dinner! We don't eat desserts very often, but we had cookies and ice cream last night. :)


A few plans for the rest of the week....

....taking care of Parker this week
....going to Walmart on Friday morning with my sister
....grocery shopping Friday afternoon 
....church on Sunday


A peek into my day....this is our favorite gift from Christmas...a 2012 calendar full of sweet Parker photos! It's hanging in our kitchen by the table, so we can see it whenever we have a meal. ♥

    It sounds like you have a busy week! Parker is so adorable, I'll bet you just love the time you get to spend with him. One of my favorite days of the week, is the one I spend with my sister and mother - what a blessings sisters and mothers are!

    I loved the story of the basket! I hope you don't mind if I share it with the young women that I teach at church?

    Thank you so much for your prayers and kind words when we were going through so much sadness, they truly lifted my spirits!
