For today....Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Outside my window....it is sunny and cold outside today. The forecast for today is 59 degrees, with a temp right now 33 of degrees.
I am thinking.....that Megan and Parker came over for a visit yesterday afternoon. It was fun to have them here, though Parker would not go down for a nap! :( He did enjoy some time in his jumperoo... ♥♥
They are coming over again this afternoon. I thought I would invite them to stay for dinner since Ric has to work late tonight.
I am thankful....last week was a busy one, so I'm thankful this week is much quieter. I'm able to be home more this week, and that makes my heart happy. ♥
In the kitchen....I finally took the time this week to make a menu plan for the week. It always makes grocery shopping so much easier, as well as dinner preparation...so I don't know why I don't do this every week. I've gone ahead and planned out dinners for the next three weeks, so hopefully I'll keep this up!
One of my favorite things.....enjoying some time alone at home.
A few plans for the rest of the week....
....housework and laundry done through out the week
....taking care of Parker on Thursday
....grocery shopping Friday morning
....church on Sunday

I am wearing.....blue jean skirt, blue long sleeved shirt, light blue hoodie sweatshirt, tights.
I am going....nowhere until I go grocery shopping on Friday morning.
I am reading....not reading anything special this week.
I am hearing.....the house is quiet right now. William has gone on an errand, and Michelle is at work. I enjoy the house when it is still and quiet.
Around the house.....I've decided I really need to be more on a schedule for housekeeping. I've always thought that Flylady has a good system, so I'm slowly implementing some of her ideas into my housecleaning routine. I'm taking baby steps! :)

A peek into my day....I took this photo of D'artagnan the other night. He was all snuggled up in Michelle's bed. He looks so cozy and comfortable. :)

You are right, it's *so nice* when life is slow and you can be home more. I'm thankful that my life is like that most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit you described wearing sounds so pretty.
And I LOVE the cute snuggly picture of your sweet dog. :o)
Hi Susan, I love all your sweet pics today! I enjoy quiet time at home too. I know you look forward to afternoons with Parker. He is growing and is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree on the menu planning! I find it makes my day go smoother if I've already prepared ahead of time for that day's meal.

What better way to spend your time?! My daughter (and granddaughter) live a 3 hour drive away, but I would see them more often if I could. I am visiting them in a few weeks, and I am excited already!
ReplyDeleteI always think it wise to have few plans, and to be ready for anything unexpected that might come along. A full diary is too overwhelming!
I love a peaceful quiet house too.
ReplyDeleteParker is such a cutie!
Parker is so CUTE!! Have a happy day dear friend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day. I love to be home getting stuff done and time to make a nice dinner. After the holidays it is good to get some rest for sure.

ReplyDeleteWhat a darling picture of D'artagnan! He looks so cozy! And Parker is really getting big--he is so cute. Hope you're having a great week! ~Karen
ReplyDeleteI love it so much when things are quiet too! And meal plans are awesome, aren't they? Hope your week has continued to be nice for you.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteI would not want to nap either if I were Parker. That jumperoo looks like too much fun!
And your sweet puppy looks so snuggly in bed.
