The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today....Monday, December 19, 2011

Outside my window....the forecast for today is 57 degrees. The current temp is 39 degrees. The sky is grey and overcast, or as William said, 'the weather is foggy and icky today'.

I am thinking.....Megan and Ric's third wedding anniversary is on December 20th. They had originally wanted to go away overnight to celebrate, but decided they didn't want to be too far from Parker. They asked if William and I could keep him overnight, so they could celebrate at home. We will pick Parker up tomorrow morning, and he will spend the day and night with us. It will be the first time we've had him overnight. It should be fun, and interesting...we are not used to getting up at night with a baby. Though he does sleep through the night sometimes. I hope Megan and Ric will enjoy a lovely celebration. :)

I am thankful....for Christmas...the celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. That is the 'true' reason of why we celebrate.

In the kitchen....William will be picking up his sweet mother for a visit on Christmas Day. She will be staying with us for four or five days. I spent some time yesterday planning out dinner menus for that week. Now I just need to write a grocery list for my shopping trip on Thursday.

I am wearing.....blue jeans, dark pink sweatshirt, black socks..

I am going....we are going to pick up Parker tomorrow morning at 9:00 am. I plan on going grocery shopping on Thursday morning.

I am reading...still reading the 'Murder, She Wrote' mystery books. I bought nine of them at a thrift store. I think I have three left to read. :)

I am hearing....William listening to the morning news on tv.

Around the house....the house needs to be cleaned badly! I had planned to do it on Saturday, but other things came up, and I wasn't able to. Thankfully laundry is caught up! I did finish wrapping our Christmas gifts, and they are now safely tucked under the tree awaiting Christmas morning.

One of my favorite things....watching Christmas movies with my sweetie! :)

A few plans for the rest of the week....

..housework on Monday

..taking care of Parker overnight on Tuesday

..grocery shopping Thursday morning 

..church will be on Christmas Eve

..going to my brother David's house for dinner on Christmas Day.

From my picture journal....Megan gave this to us last week. The reindeer are made from Parker's footprints. Isn't it adorable? ♥♥
